Naturopathic Treatments

What Is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a form of alternative medicine based on the idea that the body has an innate capacity to fight disease and heal itself. Naturopaths improve health and treat illness by treating the person holistically, tapping a person's own internal body, mind, and spirit resources. Naturopathy comprises a blend of different therapies, all attempting to restore the body to health in the most natural, non-invasive way by stimulating the body's own healing powers.

Naturopathic treatments can include manual therapy, herbs and environmental medicine, as well as other modes of alternative medicine such as aromatherapy, homeopathy, and acupuncture. A consultation usually includes analysis of your medical history, lifestyle, diet, exercise habits, stress, relationships, sleep patterns, and mental and spiritual health.

Naturopathic Treatment

Using a range of alternative methods of diagnosis, a Naturopath can often successfully pin-point a predisposition in the body, before the onset of acute disease, and treat the patient with specific therapies and changes in the patient’s lifestyle.

A Naturopath puts a great emphasis in treating the person and looks at the reason why this person is unwell, and what is blocking the natural path of healing.

As the body aims at correcting imbalances, it is important to support this natural response, rather than use short lasting suppressive treatment.

The aim is to achieve long term solutions by restoring internal balance and addressing the causative factor of the illness, while also giving short term symptomatic relief.
